Why Alzheimer’s

For the past few weeks, our team has been excited about a special project that we are pleased to present to you today. As you probably know, we maintain a great collaboration with the regional company Oli & Soja from Senneterre in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. For the past year, we have been proudly selling their products (candles, soaps, body products) on our website and at our store in Val-d’Or. Recently, we sent them a special request; that of designing for us a soft and comforting candle, for which the profits would go to a cause close to our hearts: Alzheimer’s disease.

This candle is called Remembrance and represents comfort and sweetness. It is specially designed for people directly or indirectly affected by Alzheimer’s disease. It also represents a unique project for some members of our team who are closely affected by this disease. In addition, it comes in a 4 oz format and its fragrance is fresh, like laundry on the clothesline.
By purchasing this candle, $7.65 (100% of profits) will be donated to the Quebec Federation for Research of Alzheimer’s Societies.

Indeed, the PRSA (Research Program of the Alzheimer Society):

• encourages researchers to explore radical new ways to advance our knowledge of neurocognitive disorders; and
• improves the quality of life of people with neurocognitive disorders, families and caregivers.

A project that cares

If you’re like us, the past two years have been filled with uncertainty, instability and fear. Above all, these years have confronted us with our fragility. Our individual, collective, financial and social fragility. On the other hand, the last few months have also brought us back to the essentials, and to the importance of taking care of oneself, of others and above all, of the most vulnerable.
It is therefore not insignificant that when we relearn the notion of normality and gradually reintegrate it into our daily lives, that we continue to carry with us the will to take care.
If this is the legacy left to us by the pandemic, we vow to honor it. Moreover, this project is a first step.
